Jars on display: order that actually lasts
Glass, porcelain or plastic — what to leave out on the counter and what to tuck away in the cupboard.

A jar on display earns its place when you open it every day. Otherwise it just collects light and dust. Start with three things you reach for often: coffee, sugar, pasta or tea.
Material and lid
- Glass: you can see what's inside — best kept out of direct sunlight.
- Porcelain: looks lovely on show, weighs more and is best lifted with two hands.
- Screw or push-fit lid: check whether it needs to be airtight for moist foods.
Honey needs an easy-to-clean rim and, ideally, its own dipper. A decorated jar can stay on the worktop; a pantry jar is better off in the cupboard, where it won't get knocked.
Sizes and materials are listed on each product page. If you need something for a tight corner, just add the width and height to your order request.
